Academy Goal I.B: Foster an academic environment that encourages the development of independent learners.

Objective I.B.1: Create a system of student incentives that reward both academic achievement and positive behaviors.

Objective I.A.2: Implement a parent homework coaching program.

Objective I.B.3: Offer teacher incentives to adopt and use innovative instructional strategies.
Measure: Documentation of the development of each objective’s activities with surveys and informal feedback from parents and teachers demonstrating impact.

Academy Goal I.C: Develop Master Students.

Objective I.C.1: Promote student’s capacity for independent, self-directed learning as demonstrated by teachers’ observation and age appropriate projects in portfolios.

Objective I.C.2: Facilitate consistent use of critical thinking skills as demonstrated by teachers’ observation and age appropriate projects included in student’s portfolios.

Objective I.C.3: Stimulate the application of knowledge to real life situations as demonstrated by teachers’ observation and age appropriate projects included in student’s portfolios.

Objective I.C.4: Promote the development of leadership skills as demonstrated by mastery of age appropriate benchmarks of leadership such as taking responsibility, exhibiting pro-social behaviors, conflict resolution, and influencing peers in positive ways.

Objective I.C.5: Foster an appreciation of the creative arts and humanities as demonstrated by knowledge, skills and appreciation of a variety of fine art forms.

Academy Goal I.D: Create a school culture that embraces an innovative environment of educational options.

Objective I.D.1: Infuse characteristics of research-based models, to offer innovative approaches to learning.
Measure: Documentation of professional development training provided to administrators and staff in the concepts and methodology of various models. Surveys and informal feedback from teachers and an analysis of efficacy of incorporated models will demonstrate impact.
