Undergraduate Registration Process

New Student / Readmit Student / Transfer Student / Transient Student / Special Student

If you never attended Sojourner-Douglass College (SDC), or if you wish to be readmitted, you must be accepted and admitted to SDC before you can register for classes. Please stop by the Admissions Office, Room 225 to speak with an admissions representative.  Here are the steps to register:

  1. OBTAIN A “PERMIT TO REGISTER” FORM FROM THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE, ROOM 225. You must submit all required information to the Admissions Office before registering.
  2. IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCIAL AID, AND YOUR FINANCIAL AID PACKAGE HAS BEEN PROCESSED, BE SURE TO STOP BY THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE, ROOM 229 TO OBTAIN YOUR “FINANCIAL AID AWARD LETTER” BEFORE YOU GO TO AN ADVISOR’S OFFICE TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES.
  3. PROCEED TO THE BURSAR’S OFFICE, ROOM 228, TO OBTAIN CLEARANCE AND SIGNATURE.
    • Present the “Financial Aid Award Letter” to validate your registration.
    • For Readmit students, obtain information on payment plans or third party sponsorship programs from the Bursar’s Office.
  4. BEFORE YOU REGISTER, YOU WILL NEED TO MEET WITH AN ACADEMIC ADVISOR TO PLAN YOUR COURSE SCHEDULE, ROOM 321.
    • Present the “Financial Aid Award Letter” to validate your registration.
    • For Readmit students, obtain information on payment plans or third party sponsorship programs from the Bursar’s Office.
  5. TAKE THE SIGNED “PERMIT TO REGISTER” FORM TO THE REGISTRAR’S OFFICE, ROOM 315. You must be officially registered for all classes you attend. A Registrar’s representative will enter your courses. Your registration schedule will be given to you. REVIEW THE SCHEDULE CAREFULLY to ensure that selected classes are correct. You are not registered until you have completed all of the above steps.
  6. Return to Admissions to get your Student ID Card.
